Implants are the infrastructure of oral health and aesthetics when there are no teeth. In terms of treatment approach, it is very important to ensure the integration of diagnosis, planning and implant surgery under the umbrella of a treatment planning. The goal is not to make an implant, but to use it as part of a whole treatment. Therefore, the final smile and the entire treatment process should be planned before implant surgery.
This approach automatically leads to accurately planning the ideal position of the implants and the ideal timing during treatment.
1. Immediate Implantation – Immediate Loading (Instant implant treatment – Instant tooth making)
This means the extraction of expired teeth, the placement of implants in the same session, and then the replacement of teeth on top of them. For this application, the patient's bone condition must be sufficient and of good quality. The tooth to be made may be permanent or temporary, depending on the current situation. Nowadays, thanks to some specially designed active implants (Megagen Anyridge), implant retention in the bone increases and this simultaneously makes it possible to build teeth on the implant.
2. All on four – All on six
When the existing teeth in the mouth are completely lost or in a hopeless situation, it is the phenomenon of making fixed teeth immediately after the surgery by placing 4 or 6 implants in the lower or upper jaw following the extraction of the teeth. Fixed teeth are delivered 24 – 48 hours after surgery. These teeth are temporary teeth. Temporary teeth are replaced with permanent teeth 1-2 months after the surgery.
In which cases can implants be used and in which cases can they not be used?
Dental implants are suitable for single or multiple tooth deficiencies. Situations that are not suitable are generally related to the presence of some systemic diseases (diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.).
How does the implant function in the mouth?
An implant is a biomaterial, usually made of titanium or ceramic, which acts as an artificial root placed in the jawbone. Making an implant usually takes 2 stages. First, during the surgical phase, the implant is placed into the bone. In more complex cases, bone grafts, soft tissue grafts and additional procedures may be performed. The patient will usually leave with temporary teeth after the surgery. After this stage, an 8-week recovery period is required. After the recovery process, measurements are taken with the oral piece and sent to the laboratory. The most suitable functional and biologically compatible tooth is glued or screwed onto the implant. I had my implants done elsewhere. Can I have my teeth fixed in your clinic?
