A smile is like a person's identity. It is unique. Of all the other possible smiles out there, only one feels like yours, like it's always been yours. To find it, I need to correlate the characteristics of your facial features with your expectations. Facial features always guide me to design the ideal contours and harmony of the smile. A smile design is not something you should want. When one of the aims or purposes of the treatment is aesthetics, it is something you should get anyway.
How does the treatment process work?
1st Appointment
On your first visit, a complete data record is created for the diagnosis and planning phase. Detailed measurements are taken from inside your mouth and then photographs of your teeth and face are taken. Your positive and negative opinions about your current smile are recorded. A detailed analysis is made regarding the facial aesthetic interventions you have had before and are considering having in the future. These procedures take an average of 1 hour; in the light of this data, the preliminary design prepared for the person is simulated with intra-oral temporary materials without touching the teeth on the same day or the next day and presented to your approval. This phase can be likened to a test drive. All my treatment plans have a clear start and a clear finish line. Natural tooth shapes are generally used (unless there is a special request). From the start, you will know what you're getting, what it will look like, how much it will cost, and how long it might last.
2st Appointment
The abrasion process is performed on the teeth, adhering to the approved design. Here, the amount of abrasion is minimal, but it varies from case to case and the procedure takes between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the number of teeth to be made. After the procedure, the patient leaves the clinic with the temporary application of the approved design into the mouth.
3rd Appointment
At this stage, permanent ceramic restorations specially prepared for our patient are tested. The final touches and personalization on the design are made and adhered as a result of my patient's wishes and my guidance.
4th Appointment
At this appointment, our patient's function (chewing) and speech are evaluated and final corrections are made accordingly. This session should be done the day after gluing or the day after. After the treatment, our patient is given a ceramic protective plate suitable for their new smile.
How long does it live?
Well and correctly made ceramic restorations have an average lifespan of 10 - 15 years. However, routine dentist check-ups and self-care are factors that directly affect this lifespan.
Do I need to come again?
I recommend my patients to come for a recheck in 1 year. During this time, the person forgets that they even have ceramics. Because the surrounding tissues and facial muscles will adapt to the new teeth day by day and a much more natural appearance will emerge compared to when they were bonded.
How long does it take to complete the treatment?
Our treatment protocol usually lasts 5 days. It will be enough for my patients to visit the clinic 3 times.
What materials are used in the treatment?
In terms of material, lithium disilicate-reinforced glass ceramics (e.max press Ivolar Vivadent) are generally my choice in aesthetic treatments as they offer a variety of colors and light transmittance scales. Apart from this, in cases where we prioritize aesthetics and durability together in the presence of excessively worn teeth, zirconia, also known as zirconium (Ceramill, Amann Girrbach), is used.
LAMINA VENEER (LEAF PORCELAIN)
This is the basic treatment approach used in smile design. Laminates are a restorative, minimally invasive treatment option that can improve the shape, harmony and color of teeth. If you want a more balanced, brighter or simply different smile, laminates are probably the ideal solution for you.
Although they are very sensitive restorations, they are extremely durable when bonded to enamel. When laminates are chosen to design a smile, you can choose any color and the color change is permanent.
The smile that always makes you feel like it belongs to you!
Our goal is to design a smile that feels like a part of you and belongs to you. At this point, it is possible for you to have a very natural or attractive smile. You can have a smile that is so natural that no one will understand it, or so attractive that you will be noticed in any environment you enter.
Less is more!
Laminates are usually processed with a minimally invasive concept. They require a small amount of dental abrasion (0.3 - 0.6 mm). In cases where patients have small teeth or teeth with gaps, there may be no need for any abrasion, which is called "no prep veneer".
